We love all challenges! The VioolLab String Orchestra is a group of enthusiastic, talented kids living in the center of The Netherlands with one thing in common; their love for the violin and making music together!

The youngest member is 7 years old, the eldest 12, and they all study with Miriam Veeger, founder of the violin school 'Het VioolLab' (The Violin Lab). At the lab Miriam inspires the students to experiment with their violin, their sound and musicality, and thus the children are used to improvising and are learning to play with imagination.

They easily accept challenges like “the bottle cap challenge”, hula-hooping while playing, or improving bow hand skills by balancing a plastic cup while exercising, and in the meantime raise money for organisations such as Save the Children. The ensemble was founded in the spring of 2018 and performs at Masterclasses and Festivals. The repertoire ranges from classical to popular. The ensemble was awarded the second prize at the Tristan Keuris Chamber music competition in April 2019.
