Floris was born in Hamburg on May 16th, 2007 to a Dutch mother and a German father. He is a fourth grader at the Grundschule Otter and a sixth grader at the Dutch School in International School Hamburg.

Floris was given his first violin by his godmother, Dana Anka, primaria of the Nathan Quartett, and started studying with her shortly after his 5th birthday in May 2012. On a regular basis since 2014, he has been rehearsing and performing with pianist Julia Krupska. Floris is a piano student of Medard Krajecki.

Floris’ debut as a violinist on a major stage took place on September 19th, 2015 at the Klassiek op het Amstelveld Festival in Amsterdam, where he appeared with the Alsterkinder Ensemble to perform the world premiere of Sonja Schwedersky’s “Little Hands”, dedicated to Klara Khomskii. In 2016 he appeared as a soloist at the same festival. With gratitude to the Klassiek op het Amstelveld Festival who suggested he participate, Floris was the youngest participant in a workshop organised by the latter in September 2016 with the NJSO (Nederlands Jeugd Strijk Orkest) (Dutch National Youth String Orchestra) with whom he performed Hendrik Andriessen’s Variations and Fugue on a Theme of J. Kuhnau in the first violin section. Also in 2016, Floris performed with the Martina Eisenreich Quartett.

Floris joined the Hamburger Konservatorium Youth Orchestra in September 2015 and has been accepted in the first violin section of the new Elbphilharmonie Familienorchester starting 2017.
