Emma was born in Canada and lives in Norway with her Norwegian father and Chinese-Canadian mother. She is from a family of non-musicians and has been playing piano since she was 4 and a half years old, beginning with the Suzuki Method at 5 years with Sigrun Landro Bekken. In 2016 year she joined the Barratt-Due Institute of Music in Oslo under the teaching of Marina Pliassova.

 

Emma has participated in many concerts and workshops including the Poros Piano Academy in Greece, the Steinway Festival in Norway and the British Suzuki Gala Concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 2016. In 2014, she played as a soloist at the 100-year celebration of Music Teachers in Norway at the University Aula in Oslo, Norway.

 

Emma has been an active member of The Norwegian National Opera Children’s Chorus in Oslo since 2013 performing in various live productions. Emma has been improvising music from an early age and has been taking regular improvisation lessons in the 18th century Galant style with Tobias Cramm in Switzerland over Skype since 2015.
